The Seneca Trail section just east of NY251 is temorarily closed until furter notice.

The beavers have been activly building dams along the stream by the Seneca Trail behind the Auburn Creek Apartments. This has resulted in considerable flooding, making the trail unusable.

 

 

VHT has a permit from The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to remove problem beavers or beaver dams. Over the past year, we have removed or lowered several dams, and we will continue to do so. Also, there is a project under way to install a beaver water level control device (an overflow drain) at the largest dam.
