GLT Trail - VHT
Victor Hiking Trails
1.1-mile one way, "trident / lollypop" with hills
Blazed blue, red, and yellow.
May 2021

This footpath connects with the Monkey Run Trails.
It is named GLT after the Genesee Land Trust who kindly let use create these trails on their preserve.
Starting at Valentown Rd., this trail branches into three "tines" of a trident. Two of the tines rejoin to form a lollypop loop.
From South to North
Valentown Rd to the Junction - blue

This blue blazed trail begins as a meadow with some trees trail with a gentle upward slope. There is a low wooden bridge over a small stream, and a single plank temporary bridge over a smaller flow. Then the rise gets higher to the junction. At the junction, the blue blazes continue on straight up the hill; the red blazes go off to the left; and to the right are yellow blazes.
Junction to the top - blue
The trail gets steeper then out of the meadow and left into the woods. It continues along a ridge, with ups and downs. And eventually meets the red trail to form a loop.
Junction to the top - red

This is an old logging/farm road. (It may still be used by ATVs by the land owners.) There is a gentle up slope. It parallels a small stream. It ends where it meets the blue trail to form a loop.
NOTE: the "road" continues on private land after the end of out trail. Please do not continue: do not trespass.
Junction to the top - yellow

This is an old logging/farm road. There are fairly steep ups and downs. It is a simple out and back trail.
NOTE: the "road" continues on private land after the end of out trail. Please do not continue: do not trespass.
Parking
Parking for the trail is along Valentown Rd, off the shoulder.
